"There is no way that he can start bowling before the end of December. In fact, he will go back home for now and assess his injury later this month," the source added.

Axed due to poor form, Harbhjan was desperately looking ahead of the remaining matches with Punjab and look seal a place in the Indian team for the one-day tri-series in Australia in Febraury along with Sri Lanka.

The team for the CB series will selected by second week of January, but as Harbhajan is ruled of the season it is unlikely that the selectors will consider him for the series.

Harbhajan Singh managed to claim only two wickets in two matches against UP and Saurashtra. It Wont be easy for Punjab to make it to the knok-out stage as they are now on nine points in Group B.

In that case, Harbhajan will get his first game on February 4 in the Duleep Trophy, a day before the CB series starts.
