Indore, Dec 8: Smashing batsman Virender Sehwag scored his maiden double century in ODIs against West Indies in the fourth one-dayer at Indore.
Scoring 219, Sehwag became the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to reach the milestone setting a new world record for the highest individual one-day score.
Sehwag double ton included seven sixes and twenty five boundaries leading India to their highest ODI total of 418/5.
Sehwag scored his 15th three-figure-knock in one-day cricket and the first since making 175 against Bangladesh in the opening match of the World Cup in Dhaka in February this year. Sachin Tendulkar was the first to reach the milestone when he scored unbeaten 200 against South Africa.
Sehwag is also the only Indian batsman to score two triple tons in Test cricket.
Team India is getting back to the groove as the top-order has finally fired, mainly with this new world record Sehwag has set the alarm bell's ringing for the Aussies.
