Canberra, Dec 19: Pacer Ishant Sharma spends some time at the nets on Monday, showing improvement though his injury mystery continues as he has to undergo a check up on Tuesday.
He was forced to retire from the field due to loosening of a strapping on his ankle during the first tour game against Chairman XI, after bowling just 33 deliveries.
The lanky pacer had picked up an ankle injury during the tour of England earlier this year. No surgery was prescribed as the pacer's injury went unnoticed. Now, after having left the field on the first day of the tour opener, his fitness raised a few eyebrows.
Since he was not seen with other players during the net session had increased speculation. Doubts remain over the fitness of his ankle for the length of the tour as he is unable to play the second practice match due to the injury, in fact there are questions on his fitness and whether he will be fit for the Boxing day Test.
Even if the pacer is fit before the start of the tour, will India take the risk of including him in the squad as he is prone to get injured.
For now, everything depends on the check up that is due on Tuesday which is expected to throw more light on the pacer's mysterious injury.
