Rain likely to play spoilsport

Melbourne, Dec 22: The first test match between India and Australia is likely to be marred by rain.

Thunderstorms are likely to occur during the day that will have a maximum of 25 degree temperature said Alex Zadnik, Weatherman.

Due to the conditions, the first day of the boxing day test is likely to witness heavy rain in the morning.

“The morning looks quite hot. (But theres) quite likely to be a delayed start to play. Its a bit early to be sure. (But) the odds are for a wet start (to the Test)," said Alex Zadnik.

He further added stating that a few showers might linger on Tuesday, 27th Dec but ruled out a possibility of heavy rain on Day 2 of the Boxing day test. While there is some good news, though there is a possibility of rain affecting the first two days' play, while its not going to be disappointing on the rest of the days of the test match.

But the temperature is likely to drop for the remaining days, as the second day could witness a maximum forecast of about 20 degree temperature.

While all is set for the series to start, news about rain marred boxing test has disappointed cricket buffs. With a few days of play at disposal, India can take advantage of Australia's depleted bowling attack, which is without its main pacers, who are nursing their injuries.
