Melbourne, Dec 23: India's seamers Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma are fully fit for the first test against Australia starting on Boxing day at Melbourne.
VVS Laxman confirmed that the two pacers are fully fit and raring to play the first test in Melbourne on Friday.
Both the pacers, Ishant and Zaheer, India's strike bowlers were seen bowling in the nets on Friday as they did not display any kind of discomfort during the practice session.
"Because I had a four-month break, I could prepare well for the series. In the past, it used to be at the end of the season that I would go to Australia and breakdown...We (alongwith physios) chalked out this plan. So far I've been achieving the milestones about 8-10 days before they were delivered," Zaheer had said on Thursday.
Currently, the onus is on bowling as India has a great batting line-up, batsmen with loads of experience in the team. In order to regain the Border-Gavaskar trophy, Ishant and Zaheer should shoulder more responsibilities as the bowlers have to bowl out Australia in the Tests.
Critics too are certain that a few players like Zaheer Khan, Virender Sehwag and the Legendary trio will play a vital role in the four match test series against Australia and with some impeccable performance, India can fancy their chances to register their first win on Australian soil.
