Melbourne, Dec 27: India's latest sensation, seamer Umesh Yadav has said that he would cherish Ponting's scalp the most among his three wickets on the opening day of the Boxing day Test on Monday.
Yadav, showed a lot of fire and got the ball to move, especially in the first session on Monday as he wrecked the Aussie top order.
The Nagpur lad of just 24 years, was rewarded for his efforts and hardwork as he dismissed David Warner (37), Shaun Marsh (0) who was back after nursing a back injury and the most important of them all, Ricky Ponting (62)
'I would not say any one wicket was special. All three were. As I am touring Australia for the first time, I will take whatever comes my way. I am happy that I could do my bit for the team,' Yadav told reporters at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Monday.
When asked about how did he feel to bowl to a veteran like Ponting, he said 'No doubt, it was exciting to bowl to Ponting, I was a bit nervous bowling to him'.
Though Yadav impressed one and all with his amazing wicket taking abilities, there were mixed reactions as he had given away 96 runs off 20 overs.
Yadav also gave credit to the master blaster who guided him during his spells, boosting the confidence of the youngster while he was at mid-on or mid-off. Without pointing out how the youngster needs to bowl, Sachin had told Yadav to bowl in his areas, which indeed helped the young pacer.
'Today, he told me to bowl a fuller length in Australia', he added.
