Injury woes continue to torment Aussies

Melbourne, Dec 28: Australian All-rounder Shane Watson is going to miss the second Test against India in Sydney, starting from January 3, and remains doubtful for the rest of the series as well.

Watson, recovering from hamstring and calf injuries, and has not started practising yet. Now, with this development, Aussies have to look out for a suitable replacement as Ed Cowan too suffering from a sore back and is in need of treatment.

Aussies are banking on these batsmen a lot as others are not contributing with the bat, the responsibilities are on a few players. This has made Aussies vulnerable as they have to depend on David Warner, Clarke, Hussey or Ponting.

Another problem faced by the hosts can be termed as inconsistency as the entire team has the ability to be good performers or bad performers. With Shane Watson ruled out of the 2nd Test, Aussies have a  tough task of selecting the team for the Test starting on Jan 3, 2012 at Sydney.
