Chennai, Jan 16: Sachin Tendulkar returns to the limited overs format for the first time since his appearance in the 2011 World Cup final. Master blaster has been included in the 17 member squad, announced on Sunday for the tri-series involving Sri Lanka and Australia.
Irfan Pathan who returned to the national side after a gap of two years, in the home series against West Indies has also been included in the 17 member squad.
Praveen Kumar, missed out the Australian Tour due to a rib injury, has been recalled for the tri-series as he has completely recovered, while Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh have been ignored on fitness grounds.
Talented leg spinner Rahul Sharma, who impressed everyone in the home series against Windies, has been included alongside R Ashwin, who will be leading the spin department in the absence of Harbhajan.
Zaheer Khan, who hasn't played a one day international since the World Cup Final 2011, features in the squad as he has to spearhead the pace attack along with Umesh Yadav and Vinay Kumar.
