Aussies eyeing whitewash at Adelaide

Adelaide, Jan 17: Australia name an unchanged squad for the fourth and final Test against India at Adelaide starting next Tuesday.

After taking an unassailable 3-0 lead in the four match series, Aussies aim for a whitewash ahead of the Adelaide Test. Spinner Nathan Lyon named as the 12th man for the Adelaide Test is expected to regain his Test berth on his home ground.

His inclusion clearly suggests that, Aussies should drop atleast one fast bowler, as Ben Hilfenhaus, Peter Siddle, Ryan Harris and Mitchell Starc all fighting for the three bowler's slots.

"A spin bowler has always been a priority in Test matches at Adelaide Oval and it is very likely that Nathan Lyon will replace one of the other bowlers in the final XI for the fourth Test," chairman of selectors John Inverarity said.

The fact that Indians could not survive for an entire day became evident when India was dismissed in 60 overs and 63 overs in both the innings of Perth Test, meant the Test match not only concluded very early but also reduced the concern about excessive workloads for the fast bowlers.

After an extra two days break, Michael Clarke's team is rejuvenated and raring to play the fourth and final Test as they are eyeing a whitewash at Adelaide.

Australia: Michael Clarke (capt), Brad Haddin (vice capt), Ed Cowan, Ryan Harris, Ben Hilfenhaus, Mike Hussey, Nathan Lyon, Shaun Marsh, Ricky Ponting, Peter Siddle, Mitch Starc, David Warner
