Bangalore, Feb 4: Eight Indian players will go under the hammer today as the IPL Auction, this year is scheduled to start at 11 am at the prestigious Mysore Hall, ITC Royal Gardeni, Bangalore
Talented youngter, Ravindra Jadeja is all set to grab the attention and draw attractive bids after a stellar performance in India's 8 wicket victory over Australia in the second T20 at Melbourne on Friday.
Ravindra Jadeja, played for Kochi last year is back in the pool as Kochi Tuskers team was terminated from IPL 5 last September, after a series of issues. With a reserve price of $100,000, Jadeja is expected to draw the highest bid during the auction.
Other Indian players in the auction include VInay Kumar, Jadeja's team mate last season as he played for Kochi, also has a reserve price of $100,000. Following his good show in the T20s against Australia, his home team, Bangalore franchises might be interested in having him back in the team after a gap of one year.
Parthiv Patel (Kochi), RP Singh (Kochi) come under the $200,000 bracket, are also in demand, as franchises are keen to have more Indian players than foreign players in their team, as they have already bought many froeign players in the auction held last year.
Ramesh Powar (Kochi) and VRV Singh (Mohali) will also be hoping to find a IPL home, as they have a reserve price of a minimum $100,000. Since these players aren't representing the national team, they will be preferred as they are available for the entire season of IPL 5, but age may play a vital role in case of Ramesh Powar.
VVS Laxman is another player who might not attract franchises following his dismal show Down Under, more so since he has a reserve price of $400,000 and franchises consider him to be a liability.
While Sreesanth, features in this list, is unlikely to be get a IPL home, as he has not recovered comlpetely from injury.
