New Delhi, Feb 6: Yuvraj Singh's oncologist Dr. Nikesh Rohatagi says the world cup hero will be back in 10 weeks time, during the press conference arranged by Yuvraj's family members. He also confirms that its fully curable.
He also said that, its very rare to find such an ailment as the tumour is located between the two lungs, which is actually mediastinal seminoma and not cancer.
Doctors have said that Yuvraj needs 10 weeks to recover, as he has covered 33% of his therapy in the US.
"He has shown tremendous courage and is responding well. He will undergo third round of chemotheraphy tomorrow".
This is a rare case, as there the lungs aren't affected nor spread, as it is the germ cell tumour between the cells which is diagnosed as mediastinal semi-noma.
The tumour, is located between the two lungs, it is a rare kind of cancer which is most manageable, curable," said one of the doctors treating Yuvraj Singh.
Doctors also thanked BCCI for their support, for helping Yuvraj throughout the process.
The doctors also said that Yuvraj approached the doctor in the mid of Jan for treatment. "Chemotherapy started in the last week of Jan and is expected to get over by mid march as he is expected to be back in the action during the first week of May," Dr. Nikesh Rohatagi said.
The spokesperson, also requested media not to intervene too much, as Yuvraj, who is under medication needs privacy.
