Sydney, Feb 17: Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara on Friday became the tenth player to join the elite club of cricketers to cross 10,000 run-mark in ODI history.
Sangakkara, who scored 30 runs during the win against Australia in the sixth ODI of the ongoing tri-series at the SCG. The match was reduced to 41 overs with Australia managing to score 158 runs but according to Duckworth-Lewis method Sri Lanka had to chase 152 runs.
Sangakkara, along with Mahela Jayawardene and Sanath Jayasuriya became the third player from Sri Lanka to reach the milestone.
Sangakkara has scored 12 centuries with 67 fifties in his ODI career with an average of 37.80.
