Pietersen happy to play for Delhi in IPL
New Delhi, Feb 17: Former England skipper Kevin Pietersen, is all set to return to the Indian Premier League after the first three seasons, as he couldn't participate in the fourth edition due to a surgery, also hopes that his new franchise, Delhi DareDevils would regain its lost consistency this season which starts from April 4, 2012.

After a three year stint with Royal Challengers Bangalore, Deccan Chargers bought him during last year's auction, but unfortunately had to watch the team play by staying indoors as he couldn't play due to a surgery.

"There is no doubt that the Indian Premier League is an exciting competition and I am delighted to back after having to miss out last season because of a surgery," Pietersen said.

T A Sekar, mentor and head of GMR Sports Pvt Ltd, feels that the team composition looks good with Kevin Pietersen (England), Mahela Jayawardene (Sri Lanka), young all-rounders Andre Russel (West Indies) and Douglas Bracewell (New Zealand), which indeed are the steps taken in the right direction that help the team play well in the fifth season of IPL.

"When I look at the squad list, I am sure that Delhi Daredevils will regain the consistency it has shown in the first three editions when it won 24 games," said the batsman, who became the first player of the franchisee to don the new team uniform at the ICC
