Brisbane, Feb 20: Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, will undergo a precautionary MRI scan on Monday, after a Brett Lee delivery hit on his head during the tri-series match against Australia in Brisbane on Sunday.
Looked like Tendulkar has misread the pace and lift of Lee in the second over, which hit the helmet and bounced off to Xavier Doherty at mid-on who took the catch.
Australia appealed as most of the players were confident that they had got the master blaster, but umpire Steve Davis was convinced that the ball had not touched Sachin's bat before striking the helmet.
This could have deflected on to Tendulkar's forehead, above the right eye. Though the senior batsman resumed his innings, Ben Hilfenhaus dismissed him in the very next over.
Soon after his dismissal, Tendulkar was given ice treatment for the swelling on his forehead. Though he has not shown any discomfort, team management has advised him to undergo a precautionary MRI scan.
It turned out to be a miserable outing for Tendulkar at Gabba, as he was hit on his shin off Peter Forrest during the 25th over of Australian innings while he was again hit by Lee's delivery during India's chase, which India lost by 110 runs to register another humiliating loss.
