Colombo, Mar 3: Sri Lanka has announced a 14-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup which is scheduled to start from March 11, 2012. Lankan selectors have left out left arm spinner Rangana Herath while fast bowlers Dammika Prasad and Chanaka Welegedara, who were a part of the tri-series do not find a place in the 14 member squad.
Sri Lanka's off-spinner Seekkuge Prasanna gets a berth in the squad for Rangana Herath, while pacer Suranga Lakmal makes a comeback after recovering from an injury.
Three all-rounders, Farveez Maharoof, Angelo Mathews and Thisara Perera who picked up injuries during the tri-series are also included in the 14-member squad.
Herath, has been economical in his last 10 ODIs having conceded only 4.35 per over, while he hasn't got many breakthroughs.
Comeback man Lakmal returns to the side after three months, following an ankle injury he picked up during the match against Pakistan in Nov 2011.
Sri Lanka will play their first match against India on March 13, 2012.
