Mumbai, Mar 10: Team India left to Bangladesh to take part in the Asia Cup featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India, starting on March 11, 2012.
Team India led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, back from Australia after a disastrous tour, registering two successive whitewashes in the Test series, and not making it to the final of the ODI tri-series featuring Australia and Sri Lanka, is scheduled to play three ODI matches against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan on Mar 13, 16 and 18th respectively.
Asia Cup is scheduled to start this sunday, March 11, as hosts take on Pakistan in the opening fixture of the tournament. India are termed favourites to win the Cup as they have won the Asia Cup five times in its history, which includes the last occasion that was played two years ago in Sri Lanka.
India will face Sri Lanka on March 13, at the Sher-e-Bangla national stadium at Mirpur, while the most interesting contest against arch rivals Pakistan is scheduled on March 18, which will be the first time the two nations will face after the World Cup semifinal at Mohali on Mar 30, 2011.
The tournament includes 6 league matches from March 11- 20 while the final will be played on March 22.
