Bangalore, Mar 10: It was a wonderful moment for Rahul Dravid, the cricketing legend to watch his seven year old son Samit wield the bat at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday after bidding adieu to International cricket, which also earned him the title 'The Wall'.
While the legend settled down for lunch with his wife and parents, his son Samit chose to bat while his younger brother Anvay watched a staff of Karnataka State Cricket Association bowl on a sunny afternoon.
It took some time for reporters and others to notice the kid bat, but the moment videographers and photographers moved towards the western stands, it drew attention.
Fans who had come to witness the historic occasion, were forced to watch Samit batting from outside as the security guards kept them off the ground.
"It's heartening to see such a young boy hold a bat and hit the ball straight. I am surprised to know he is Dravid's son. What a coincidence! Dravid junior batting where his father trained and played for the country over the years," a young fan, Prasanna Kumar told a news agency.
