Mirpur, Mar 14: India's batting sensation Virat Kohli and his Delhi team mate Gautam Gambhir enjoy their batting, and while playing together in tandem, share memories of scoring runs during crucial occasions, similar to the 200-plus stand against Sri Lanka in the second ODI of the Asia Cup at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday.

This partnership marked their third 200-plus stand in One Dayers within a span of two years, which is truly an achievement, as Kohli says he feels comfortable playing with Gambhir.

"We enjoy batting together. Both of us understand our game well and we have done it together on crucial occasions. It was good that we played so well together even today," Man-of-the-Match Kohli said.

In the match against Sri Lanka on Tuesday, India had lost Sachin Tendulkar's wicket early in the innings, then Kohli joined hands with Gambhir to rebuild the innings. The duo looked at ease as they piled up runs to add 205 runs for the second wicket.

"We just looked to play according to the situation and made full use of the opportunities that came our way," Kohli said.

Kohli and Gambhir had registered a partnership of 115 for third wicket which helped India chase a mammoth 321 within 37 overs with ease to gain a bonus point against Sri Lanka in the ODI tri-series also featuring Australia last month.

"We don't even have to talk much when we are batting together. Running between the wickets becomes all the more easy because of the understanding that we have," Kohli said.

India played their first match in the sub-continent after a humiliating tour of Australia where India were thrashed 0-4 in the Test series and did not qualify for the finals of the tri-series also featuring Australia and Sri Lanka.

When asked if it was a problem to get back to form playing in the sub continent after a gap of three months, he said, adjustment needed was 'more mental'. "We have grown up playing in the subcontinent, so it wasn't much of an issue," he said.

With this talented batsman at the top who is currently considered to be the run machine and his Delhi team mate Gambhir's current form definitely boosts the Team's confidence as they have to overcome the frustration of the previous tour and get back their winning formula.
