St. Vincent, Mar 15: Australia coach Mickey Arthur is confident his team will continue its winning streak against West Indies after thrashing India in four Tests and claiming the tri-series trophy against Sri Lanka.
"We've evolved the team over the last month, and we're just looking for these guys to continue to put their hands up during the series to make sure we keep going in the right direction," Australia's first foreign coach said. "We're very excited about the talent we have and a lot of that talent is going to get a lot of opportunities here."
The former South African coach singled out dashing opener David Warner, spinner Xavier Doherty, fast bowler James Pattinson and new wicketkeeper Matthew Wade as some of the youngsters who could shine in the series.
Australia will be without skipper Michael Clarke and veteran batsman Ricky Ponting for the ODIs but was named in the squad for Tests.
Doherty, Pattinson and Wade will visit the Caribbean for the first time, while Warner was part of the team which reached the final of the World Twenty20 back in 2010.
Skipper Michael Clarke will be replaced by stand-in skipper Shane Watson as Clarke is recovering from a hamstring injury. Watson said he is looking forward to lead a quality and talented side and hopes to bring winning experiences to his leadership.
"For me, it's just a really enjoyable time to be able to try to bring across the way that I love playing cricket and the way I've seen throughout my 10 years of playing and being around international cricket with one of the most dominant Australian sides that we've produced," Watson said. "I've learnt a lot about how I think the Australian team can play at their best. So I'm just really excited about being able to lead a team of very high quality and talented individuals, but also know exactly what is required to be able to win."
