Dhaka, Mar 21: A day after Saeed Ajmal's bowling action was questioned by India, which was defended by former Pakistan cricketers and ICC, the spinner himself has taken a dig on that row again, as he has targeted Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, saying that the legend couldn't play his doosra well as he is in the twilight of his career.
"Sachin toh mahan hai, he is Sir Sachin, Woh Aakhri daur pe khel rahe hai but he is still Sir Sachin Tendulkar," said the talented off spinner.
Ajmal's comments suggest that he has not taken Indian team's objections in the right spirit, as the manner in which he made a comment on Sachin Tendulkar has raised quite a few eyebrows.
Team India had suspected Ajmal's bowling action and this did not go well with the off spinner as he targeted Sachin Tendulkar when he was asked to talk about Sachin's inability to play the off-spinner.
In order to defend his bowling action, and unable to take the comments, Ajmal took advantage of the opportunity to hit out at Sachin who was dismissed by Ajmal's doosra in the clash on Mar 18, 2012 which India won by 6 wickets.
While the International Cricket Coucil (ICC) has also said that Ajmal's tweaker was well within the allowed degree of tolerance and there is nothing wrong in his bowling action. But all said and done, such verbal spats keep the issue hot as always since it is a clash between the arch-rivals.
