Bangalore, March 28: Sri Lankan spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan on Wednesday congratulated Sachin Tendulkar for completing hundred international centuries and said it will be impossible for anyone to match that historic feat.
Tendulkar scored his 100th international ton against Bangladesh during the recently concluded Asia Cup in Mirpur. The Master Blaster ended a century drought for more than a year.
"I think Tendulkar's achievement is great achievement and its impossible for anyone to achieve that," Muralitharan told reporters at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Wednesday.
Muralitharan is part of the Royal Challenger Bangalore team for the fifth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL). RCB are currently preparing for IPL 5 at Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Muralitharan, who played for Chennai Super Kings for the first three years, was bought by Kochi Tuskers Kerala last year. However, now that Kochi is out of IPL, the Sri Lankan offspinner was bought by RCB in the February auction in Bangalore.
Muralitharan said Tendulkar's feat is "very difficult" to achieve.
"Hundred hundreds in international cricket something very difficult to achieve. We all congratulate him. He has had a tremendous cricket career for more than two decades. I think when he goes he will go on top," added Muralitharan.
