"Spinners need to have lot of skills and have to think fast and work on identifying the weaknesses of the opponents. If you have skills you can prove yourself even on batsmen friendly wickets," he told reporters on the sidelines of a programme here.
"Spin bowlers always need to work on positive things and regulary need to improve their bowling skills."
According to the leg spinner, the biggest challenge in the shortest version of the game is to contain runs, as players will go for boundaries and huge hits every ball in order to keep the scorecard ticking. So there is a need for spinners to be skillful in order to restrict the batsmen to a decent score.
"For a spin bowler to prove himself ... it is very important to be skillful. One needs to have belief in himself and always need to try to improve their bowling for getting better performance," Mishra said.
When asked about his chances of staging a comeback, he has said the performance in IPL 5 is surely the key and looks forward to prove his worth in the mega event that is scheduled to start from April 4, 2012.
"I always try to give my best. I play with that motive whenever I get a chance. I believe in giving a better performance than the previous matches. IPL-IV is past and I am looking forward to IPL-V. Whatever opportunity I get, I try to prove myself, whether it is batting, bowling or fielding," he said.
