Tough for India to counter SA pace trio

Mumbai, Mar 30: Former South Africa cricketer known for his excellent fielding, Jonty Rhodes feels that Test captain Graeme Smith must be pleased with the bowling attack in the team as all the three bowlers are different.

"I think South Africa have got a pretty good all-round attack and Graeme Smith, as a Test captain, must be pretty happy," Rhodes told PTI.

He further added that all the three bowlers, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander are of different kind and feels Indian batsmen might find it difficult to counter them.

"It's not just Dale Steyn. Morne Morkel bowls at speed and also gets good bounce with his height and there's Vernon Philander...so there are three pacers who bowl very differently, which is often difficult to counter," he added while responding to whether the Indian batsmen would find it tough to face this pace attack when they visit South Africa in 2013-14 season to play three Tests, seven ODIs and two T20s.

Rhodes, who is currently in Mumbai with the IPL team, assisting them with fielding, feels that the Indian cricket team will find the going tough in South Africa as the bowlers are different from one another and might find it difficult to counter them during the lone T20 international against South Africa in Johannesbury on Friday.
