Mumbai, Apr 1: Team India returned home early on Sunday morning after suffering defeat in the one-off Twenty20 international against south Africa in Johanessburg on March 30.
India's match against South Africa was considered as a warm up match to the build up of the fifth season of the cash-rich IPL.
India were set a target of 220 by South Africa, opening batsman Gautam Gambhir smashed several boundaries to give India a good start.
Due to rain, India failed to reach a total of 82 runs set according to Duckworth-Lewis method, but were short of 11 runs scoring 71/0 in 7.5 overs.
Veteran Jacques Kallis along with Collin Ingram hit quick fifties to help their team score their second highest total and the fourth highest total ever in the history of T20 format of the game.
The IPL season five will begin on April 4 and end on May 27 including 72 matches. first match will be played by defending champions Chennai Super Kings against Champions League winners Mumbai Indians at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
