Chennai, Apr 3: Chennai Super Kings' off spinner R Ashwin feels that the team would be under pressure to defend the title in the fifth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) while the team would look to play to the potential and peak at the right time as it did in 2011.
Ashwin felt the team should peak at the right time in order to win the tournament, as it is the key to success during the pre-match press conference ahead of their opening match against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday.
"This is going to be a most interesting season for CSK because we have lot of pressure on us to defend the title. More so we have some injury concerns,"said the off spinner, as they might witness a few injury woes towards the middle or end of the season.
"That is what we have to watch out for. More so there will be back-to back matches and in early April which we have to be wary of," he said.
Chennai's opening batsman Abhinav Mukund was the first one to be rested after twisting his ankle during a practice session on Saturday and has been advised rest for ten days.
Ashwin, also felt that the all the teams would look forward to perform well and start off the competition with equal chances, so Chennai would be under pressure to defend the title this time around.
"It is more of league phases and peaking at the right time. Last season we peaked at the right time. We will have to look to do the same."
