Chennai, Apr 3: India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said that playing in front of his home crowd in an ODI against England in Ranchi will be a very big occasion and the entire state is looking forward to it.
"I have never dreamt of playing for India. I think this will be a big occasion. We have a new stadium which is well equipped. We have a five-star hotel also there and an airport. So the players won't have any sort of trouble. The people of Jharkhand are looking forward to the occasion," said the Indian captain during a media interaction on Tuesday.
For the first time, Ranchi will host a One-Day International during the England series, from November 2012 to January 2013.
BCCI added four new international venues namely Dharamsala, Rajkot, Pune and Ranchi which will host a series of matches in all formats of the game.
New Zealand series: August-September 2012: Two Tests, in Hyderabad and Bangalore; two T20 Internationals, in Vizag and Chennai.
England Series: November 2012-January 2013: Four Tests, in Kolkata, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Nagpur; two T20 Internationals, in Pune and Mumbai; five ODIs, in Rajkot, Dharamsala, Ranchi, Mohali and Kochi.
Australia Series: February 2013-March 2013: Four Tests, in Chennai, Delhi, Kanpur and Mohali.
