Mumbai, Apr 6: Finger injury keeps Sachin Tendulkar off Mumbai Indians' second match of the tournament against Sourav Ganguly led Pune Warriors as Surya Kumar is likely to replace the master blaster in the playing XI.
Tendulkar, who injured his finger on Wendesday during the tournament opener against Chennai was forced to retire hurt while he was on 16. Though Harbhajan has said that the injury is not serious, suspense over master blaster's participation has increased the curiosity of cricket fans as did not turn up for the practice session on Thursday evening.
“It’s great to have had seniors like them who have guided us on the way to make us successful cricketers. Tendulkar has been terrific with the support he has given me not just yesterday but also in the Champions T20 League. He was not in the playing 11 as he was injured but his support and guidance was very important. Without his support I don’t think we would have won the title,” he said.
Though Harbhajan has said that Tendulkar's presence in the dressing room was of great help, the master blaster might sit out of the team's clash against Pune Warriors, while Surya Kumar Yadav has been told to be prepared for Friday's clash, according to official sources.
