Visakhapatnam, Apr 8: Mumbai India, who suffered a shock defeat against Pune Warriors, will look to get back to winning ways as they face Deccan Chargers here on Monday in Game Nine of IPL 5.
In Sachin Tendulkar's absence against Pune, Mumbai could not chase a small total of 129 against Sourav Ganguly-inspired side. It is still not clear whether Tendulkar will take the field on Monday but he would have recovered from the right finger injury sustained during Game One against Chennai Super Kings on April 4.
Whether team management will risk Tendulkar or rest him for one more game, remains to be seen. South African Richard Levi, who made a breezy half century in the opener, disappointed in the next outing, dismissed for a duck. If Mumbai need a good start, they need Levi to fire.
Kieron Pollard has had quiet two games. We all know what he is capable of. Deccan Chargers will be way of him. Lasith Malinga and Harbhajan Singh will be the ones to watch out for in the bowling department.
Deccan Chargers were undone by one man, Ravindra Jadeja on Saturday. They will have the services of regular skipper Kumar Sangakkara for this match. He has just finished the England-Sri Lanka Test series. This should be a big boost for the home team on Monday.
South African paceman Dale Steyn is the one man who Deccan rely heavily on, to get wickets. He lacks good support from the other end. However, there are Daniel Christian, Manpreet Gony and TP Sudhindra. But Gony was hammered all over the ground by Chennai batsmen.
His place is not sure in the side for Monday's match. It would be a good move to bring in legspinner Amit Mishra. Mumbai Indians look strong favourites to put it across Deccan on Monday night. Can Deccan upset them?
