Poor fielding did us in: Dravid

Kolkata, Apr 14: Rajasthan Royals Captain Rahul Dravid on Friday felt that though they lost the match, they were never outclassed by Kolkata Knight Riders, who beat them by five wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The former Indian captain felt his pacers inexperience and poor fielding cost them the match.

"Our pacers are young and inexperienced compared to those of KKR. I think we could have fielded better. Though we lost the match, we were never outclassed, Dravid said post match.

"We always knew it was going to be low scoring game as the wicket was slow and turning. Though we made a steady start, losing wickets at crucial junctures cost us heavily," added Dravid.

He said though the team have lost the match, they were never outplayed.

"We have been fighting hard in all our games. We were never outclassed in any of the game though we may have lost," he said.

Rajasthan Royals began their campaign on a winning note in first two matches, but have slowly lost their touch after losing to dominating Mumbai Indians followed by Kolkata on Friday.

With the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup, Dravid said, selectors must keep an eye on the performance of youngsters from India.

Man of the match, Shakib Al Hasan credited his Bangladesh teammates for his performance.

"This is my first man of the match award in the IPL and I am very happy. But it is the good wishes of my countrymen which has brought me this award," said Hassan.
