Mumbai, Apr 15: The big news for Mumbai Indians is that of Sachin Tendulkar's return from injury. Tendulkar is all set to open batting for Mumbai in Game 19 of IPL 5 against Delhi Daredevils here at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday night.
Tendulkar has missed three games for Mumbai after he injured his right hand's middle finger during the opening game against Chennai Super Kings on April 4. He was hit on the glove by a raising delivery from Doug Bollinger.
On Saturday Tendulkar participated in his first batting practice, facing throw-downs for 45 minutes while the rest of his team-mates had a net session at the Wankhede Stadium.
Mumbai's batting has looked good with Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard doing well. Opener Richard Levi impressed in the opening game but since then has not played a big innings.
Delhi too have a batting heavy unit. After Kevin Pietersen and Mahela Jayawardene joined the team, they are looking favourites in the tournament. Pietersen and Jayawardene took them to victory over Chennai on April 10. They will be again in the limelight and Mumbai bowlers will be wary of them.
Delhi's captain Virender Sehwag can produce his usual aggressive innings any time. He is due for some big runs. The team will be hoping that their skipper clicks on Monday night.
It should be an interesting contest as the recent matches have shown.
