Kolkata, Apr 16: Kings XI Punjab skipper Adam Gilchrist was pleased with the team's effort as they were able to defend a modest total of 134 against Kolkata Knight Riders on 'difficult conditions'.
"We played under difficult conditions. It is really pleasing to know that we can adjust to some extent to all conditions," Gilchirst said after the team's win over Kolkata Knight Riders by two runs.
Though the team's batting order did not adjust to the difficult conditions, bowlers played a vital role as they bowled very well on a turning track.
"I feel the boundaries in the last two overs were excellent contribution that took us to a defendable total," he said.
He also praised Piyush Chawla and Harmeet Singh as their partnership at the end of the innings was the key to post a score of 134/9.
Asked to pick the turning point of the match, Gilchrist said, there were many episodes that slowly changed the momentum of the game.
"The partnership (between Chawla and Harmeet) at the end and excellent spell of Chawla with the ball got us back into the game. Overall it was consistent fielding and a disciplined bowling that got the match back to us," Gilchirst said.
