Sangakkara's take on switch-hit

Jaipur, Apr 17: Deccan Chargers skipper Kumar Sangakkara has said batsman needs 'exceptional skill' to execute the much hyped switch-hit and feels the controversial shot will soon be discussed in ICC meetings.

"I feel it requires exceptional skill to play and perfect that shot. It is not Kevin Petersen of England but many others too who play the switch-hit," Sangakkara said here ahead of their Indian Premier League match against Rajasthan Royals.

David Warner shot to fame with this shot during the tri-series featuring India, Sri Lanka and Australia.

"Remember David Warner also played such shot against the Indians. It needs a lot of skill to play that but I am sure that it would come for discussion at the ICC meeting quite soon," Sangakkara said.

With many cricketers showing interest towards this controversial shot switch-hit, it is indeed gaining a lot of importance apart from the action happening on the cricket field and might be a topic of discussion at ICC meetings as well, Sangakkara pointed out.
