Chennai, Apr 20: Pune Warriors' skipper unhappy with Thursday's loss, said it was a close match and the team needed one big over, which could have turned the result in their favour.
Chasing 165 to win, Pune Warriors lost a couple of wickets during the powerplay and wickets fell in quick succession which denied Warriors a good partnership, which sealed the result in Chennai's favour.
"We needed a big over towards the close from which we could get 20-odd runs. But it did not happened. It was a close finish," he said.
Ganguly felt the target was well within their reach, as they fell short by a few runs, and feels one good over would have made the difference.
"We were in the game but needed an over of 15-20 runs," he said.
Regarding his injury, Ganguly said he fell on the ground attempting to take a catch, as he landed on his chest which resulted in the injury, when asked if his shoulder was fine, after the match.
"Shoulder's alright, landed on my chest actually. It's all right," he said during the post match conference after Warriors' loss to Chennai Super Kings on Thursday night.
