We're not favourites for title: Sehwag

Pune, Apr 24: Delhi Daredevils are emerging as one of the strong contenders for IPL 5 title, but their captain Virender Sehwag feels they are not the favourites for this year's trophy.

Delhi's batting and bowling are looking excellent. With Sehwag, Kevin Pietersen, Mahela Jayawardene and Ross Taylor taking care of the batting, fast bowler Morne Morkel has stunned the opposition with his pace. Left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem has surprised batsmen with his spin. Australian explosive opener David Warner is yet to arrive and he will be a big addition to the squad.

With all these riches in the squad, Sehwag still feels otherwise when asked whether they are the favourites.

“We are not favourites (to win IPL 5 title). There are other teams which are the favourites. We are a good side,” said Sehwag at the toss as they faced Pune Warriors in Game 31 of IPL 5 at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium on Tuesday.

The captain might not be agreeing that they are one of title contenders but Delhi fans will definitely back their Daredevils to go all the way to the title on May 27.

At present, Delhi sit on top of the points table with eight points from six games. They have lost two matches, against Pune and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
