Pietersen, who is currently playing IPL 5 for Delhi Daredevils, visited Amity University campus on Thursday and interacted with students and also passed on tips to young cricketers.
“Sachin is a magnificent player. He is the greatest player ever played. In Twenty20, anything can happen. It's hard to predict result and we will try to win two points,” Pietersen said when asked about his team's plans for Mumbai Indians on Friday.
Mumbai and Delhi will clash again at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Friday. In the earlier match between the two sides at the Wankhede Stadium, Delhi had won.
Pietersen was asked to tell as to which cricketer does he follow the most. He said he liked former Australia batsman Mark Waugh.
“I don't follow anybody. I grew up in South Africa and loved watching Jonty Rhodes, Hansie Cronje. Other than that I liked Mark Waugh. There are a few people I enjoy watching them play but I can't be somebody else," the right-hander said.
The South Africa-born batsman was asked about his views on playing at Lord's and Feroz Shah Kotla.
He answered: “Lord's is traditional, English. There are knowledgeable people. At Kotla it is intense, loud. I have lot of respect for crowd here. It's loudest than any other (stadium).”
KP also praised Rahul Dravid, who he had played with while being in Royal Challengers Bangalore squad. He also said India were lucky to have two greats Dravid and Virender Sehwag playing at the same time.
“Rahul (Dravid) is magnificent player. It is a privilege to have played with these players. India is lucky to have these great men. It's great to play in Bangalore and Delhi,” he said.
