New Delhi, Apr 27: Delhi Daredevils coach Eric Simons feels his team is aware of Sachin Tendulkar's presence, as he has returned to the side after nursing a finger injury ahead of their tie against Mumbai Indians at Feroz Shah Kotla on Friday.
"Sachin (Tendulkar) is back, that makes a difference. They (Mumbai) are coming off a good win," Simons said during the pre-match conference on Thursday.
The cricketing legend missed a couple of matches due to a finger injury that he picked up while playing a Bollinger delivery in the opening match of the tournament against Chennai Super Kings and returned to the side to play against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday.
Though the side had won the first-leg match against Harbhajan Singh's XI, Simons feels the presence of Tendulkar in the side can make things difficult for the Daredevils as they play Mumbai on Friday
"Good win against them last time. We will take the positives from that game."
After restricting them to a paltry 92 at the Wankhede Stadium on April 17, Delhi Daredevils thrashed Mumbai by 7 wickets and that win would definitely give them an edge as they play their return-leg tie today.
He further added saying that the team has performed very well to guide the team to victory from tough situations, which is indeed a good sign.
"It's good to win from losing position, it's always good to win from tough situations."
Asked about the main players in the team, Mahela Jayawardene, Kevin Pietersen and Ross Taylor, he said all the overseas players are aware of their responsibilities.
"We have three very experienced overseas players. They are all very experienced and know their roles," Simons said.
Talking about the tweakers, the South African said, "Four important aspects for spinners are loop, turn, bounce and drift," said Simons
Pleased with the team's performance in the tournament so far, said skipper Sehwag has played exceptional knocks in IPL 5.
"Viru has played some exceptional knocks and Negi is a very talented player," Simons said who was pleased with the players as they have been quite consistentto contribute to the team's victories.
