Kolkata, Apr 29: Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir credited the entire team for their overall performance after a massive 47-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in Kolkata on Saturday.
Gambhir and Co moved to second place in the points table after securing a comprehensive 47-run victory. Gambhir, who was adjudged man of the match, said it was team effort that helped them win.
"Look, it was just one of the days when things go right, the way the pair of Kallis and McCullum batted was simply superb. And then we bowled well as well," said Gambhir, who scored a match-winning 93 runs.
"If the team batting first can get to 190, it just shows that the wicket was really good. Credit to the entire team the way they played," he said.
Gambhir praised all-rounder Yusuf Pathan for his impressive bowling effort after conceding 1/19 in four overs.
"He did a great job with the ball. He did a great job when he was bowling against Chris Gayle. His four overs for 19 turned the match around," he said.
Royal challengers skipper Daniel Vettori rued that they dropped Gamhir thrice and that cost them a lot.
"We can always look back at the dropped catches but you also look back at the innings Gambhir played and hats off. We now go home for a week, two vital games coming up and will want to win those two matches," he said.
