Kolkata, Apr 30: Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir expects fans to support their team while the residents of Kolkata including Sourav Ganguly's wife Dona, are supporting the prince of Kolkata who is currently playing for Pune Warriors ahead of the clash between Gambhir's XI and Dada's Warriors on May 5.
When asked Dona, to pick her team ahead of the clash between Pune Warriors and home team Kolkata Knight Riders, she readily said its Pune, as Dada plays for them.
"It's team Pune for me all the way. And I know, majority of people here will also be supporting for their 'Dada' when he will play at Eden Gardens against Knight Riders," Dona said.
Dona praised Ganguly and his ability to bind people beyond borders, as he is supported by people everywhere.
"He gives them a more intense feeling of being one of their own rather than their home team. That's Sourav. He can bind people beyond borders. He has followers everywhere," she said remembering KKR's win in Delhi.
"I was flooded with messages from Delhi that day despite the home team losing. I was so overwhelmed. I'm proud to be his wife."
Kolkata fans associate themselves with Ganguly's team as he happens to be the son or the Prince of Kolkata. Though he plays for Pune Warriors, they support his team ahead of the clash between Knight Riders and Pune Warriors which is scheduled for Saturday at Dada's home ground.
