Revenge on cards as Pune take on Deccan

Cuttack, Apr 30: Sourav Ganguly-led Pune Warriors would like to avenge the defeat against Deccan Chargers in the return-leg tie to be played at Barbati Stadium on Tuesday.

With five points from 9 games, Pune Warriors are placed seventh in the points table while Deccan Chargers are rooted to the bottom of the table as they have registered only one win against Pune Warriors last Thursday, Apr 26.

Pune Warriors, would hope to get back their winning streak as they lost their last two matches to Delhi Daredevils and Deccan Chargers respectively.

Sourav Ganguly's side would be benefitted by the presence of Michael Clarke, which means the team needs to rest an overseas player inorder to accomodate the Australian Test captain.

With the team wearing a balanced look, Ganguly's XI look to dominate the deflated Chargers, but are aware of the team's ability to pull a win after their loss to Chargers at home.

Deccan on the other hand, have already lost seven matches and are on the verge of being eliminated from the fifth edition of IPL.

Poor fielding, batting failures and lack of bowling strength leads them to a must-win situation, while their key players like Kumar Sangakkara, Cameron White and JP Duminy are struggling to score runs.

The team has not played as a unit so far, as they batsmen and bowlers have failed to compliment each other so far in the tournament.

Deccan Chargers' batting order seems to be inconsistent while the fielding is miserable. The team's only high is the win against Pune Warriors by 18 runs on Apr 26, which would act as a morale booster despite their disappointing performance so far in the season.

Shikhar Dhawan is the only batsman to register two fifties in five games, while others have struggled to score runs, including the skipper Sangakkara, who decided to give others a chance by resting himself against Mumbai Indians on Sunday.

Can Chargers upset Warriors again or will it be Ganguly-led Warriors this time, to avenge defeat against demoralised Chargers?
