The skipper has set a new record in T20s as he has already notched up five consecutive fifties and hopes he can play consistently throughout the tournament.
"I believe I am lucky to have scored five 50's in a row. Hopefully, I will be able to carry on this good form till the end of the tournament," Sehwag said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
Sehwag further added saying the tag favourities adds more pressure on the side while he would be very happy if Daredevils are termed as a "good competitive side."
"The tag of favourites always increases the pressure. But credit to the support staff as they have helped us perform. Today, I thought about playing the last XI and the coach insisted that we pick Pawan Negi as the pitch was low and slow in nature. Negi bowled brilliantly," Sehwag said after his team's six wicket win over Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday.
Daredevils have won 8 out of their 10 encounters while they have only lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore and Pune Warriors so far in the tournament. With a set of match-winners, Daredevils have been termed favourites to win the trophy this year after Rajasthan Royals, Deccan Chargers and Chennai Super Kings.
Though Chennai Super Kings can fancy their chances, after winning the title for the last two years, the team has not been very consistent when compared to Daredevils.
With Sehwag also talking about favourites tag causing pressure, the team is expected to play extremely well in the remaining matches.
