Royals played poor cricket, says Dravid

Jaipur, May 2: Rajasthan Royals skipper Rahul Dravid felt the team played poor cricket against table toppers Delhi Daredevils after their six wicket loss to Virender Sehwag's XI on Tuesday.

Having lost four matches in a row, Dravid's XI hope to bounce back in the tournament ahead of their clash against Kings XI Punjab on May 5.

"This was the first match in the tournament where we played poor cricket. Now we have lost four matches in a row and we need to bounce back. We had a good start and we thought 180 was a par score. But we lost too many wickets. We played poor cricket."

Dravid has been acknowledging and encouraging the talented Rahane's effort in the fifth edition of the tournament as he has been scoring consistently for the team, while others have failed to create an impact.

Dravid also praised Sehwag as he is in terrific form and said it is good to watch him bat.

"Rahane was terrific again. He is getting us starts. If we had got Viru out early, I thought we stood a chance, but he is in terrific form. Though it hurts, he is good to watch."

With 4 wins from 10 matches, Rajasthan Royals need to win the rest of the games to ensure a place in the play-offs. With Dravid and Rahane performing well, middle-order needs to support them as they haven't got good partnerships after the fall of the first two wickets which is posing a problem for the Royals.

Royals would like to sort out the issues ahead of their clash against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali on May 5.
