Bangalore, May 5: Royal Challengers Bangalore signed Kerala pacer Prashanth Parameswaran as replacement for injured Sreenath Aravind for the remaining matches in IPL 5.
"We are happy with the induction of Parameswaran in our squad. He will boost our bowling resources during the most critical phase of the ongoing tournament," RCB owner Sidhartha Mallya said in a statement.
Parameswaran, who was a part of Kochi Tuskers Kerala last season, is expected to join the squad soon.
The pacer played 5 matches for Kochi Tuskers Kerala last season in 2011, and has four wickets to his credit. Though his 2/20 in one of the matches garnered attention, while his 37-run over in the next match against Royal Challengers Bangalore was highlighted more as the Jamaican storm Chris Gayle hammered the Kerala pacer for 37 runs off 7 balls to set a new IPL record as he hit 4 sixes and 3 fours off that over.
Now, with RCB signing the Keralite, Parameswaran will overcome his nightmare as he will not be facing Gayle storm this season in the Indian Premier League.
