Kohli is a match-winner, says Dilshan

Mumbai, May 9: Royal Challengers Bangalore opener Tillakaratne Dilshan defends his team-mate as he is confident of Virat Kohli striking form at the earliest and describes him as a match-winner.

Playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 5, the Sri Lankan opener, has played just four innings off five matches and has already recorded two 70 plus knocks to help the team gain momentum at the start of the innings along with the Jamaican strom Chris Gayle.

The 35 year old cricketer, who joined the team after the conclusion of the Test series at home against England on April 7, has been the backbone of RCB's batting as he has scored 152 runs off four innings with a highest score of 76, at an average of 50.66, has said the cricketer has been playing non-stop cricket and had no problem with the change in format as he had played Test cricket before joining RCB.

"We are playing non-stop cricket. I think we have to perform in whatever chances we get. We have to adjust quickly to the conditions and also to the T20 format. We have to grab our chances and perform. I am happy to perform for RCB. I played four matches and am happy with my form," said Dilshan, who hit 76 not out against Rajasthan Royals at Jaipur and 71 against Deccan Chargers at Bangalore.

While talking about his skipper for the game against Deccan Chargers, which RCB won by 25 runs, he said Kohli is a match-winner and can peak at the right time.

Dilshan defended his Indian team-mates playing for RCB, and said all the Indian players would come good at the right time and there is no need to worry about them.

"Virat Kohli and the other Indian batsmen would peak at the right time. Kohli is a match-winner," he said.

Talking about the sensational batsman, AB deVilliers, Dilshan said, the South African has been in great form since the last few years and was pleased to play with him as he has got an opportunity to learn from him.

"AB de Villiers is a fantastic player. He's been in great form in the last 2-3 years. He is one of the match winners. I'm really happy I can learn from him on how to adjust to conditions, adjust to some bowlers.

"He is one of the greatest players I have seen in my career."

Dilshan, has been sensational since his inclusion and has ensured that he contributes to the team's success. If he can continue his good form for the remaining matches, Royal Challengers Bangalore can qualify for the play-offs.
