Pune, May 12: Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli has said his team is peaking at the right time in IPL 5, as they have registered three consecutive wins so far to stay afloat in the race for a play-off berth.
Kohli's XI defeated Pune Warriors by 35 runs to jump to the third position as they have secured 15 points off 13 games so far in this edition of IPL.
The right-handed batsman was pleased with his team's overall performance, as bowlers have joined the party as well to help RCB peak at the right time and qualify for the play-offs.
"The last two games, we have bowled well. The bowlers have stepped up and we are peaking at the right time which is good," Kohli said.
Talking about Saurabh Tiwary being promoted ahead of AB de Villiers, Kohli said it was a conscious attempt to give the Indian cricketer more time in order to help him strike form at the earliest as he has been scoring in patches.
"We wanted to give Saurabh Tiwary some game time, before we get to the playoffs. AB is a class player, who can bat at any number. Just wanted to make Saurabh more confident about himself," he said.
Kohli, also needs to strike form soon, as the team is in the race for a play-off berth and there is a need for the skipper to perform as well. If the youngster also contributes, the team can aim for its maiden IPL title this year.
