New Delhi, May 15: After being ruled out due to a hamstring injury and forced to watch his team play from the bench, Kings XI Punjab skipper and mentor Adam Gilchrist said even though he is fit to play there is no guaranteed place for him in the playing XI.
"Injury has been progressing well, but not well enough," said Gilchrist.
Asked if would comeback and represent his side an stage of the competition, the Australian legend said, "Even if I am available for playing, it is not sure that I will play as the the boys are doing a great job right now and the team is really jelling well."
Stand-in skipper David Hussey was confident after their thrilling over Deccan Chargers on Sunday. Hussey insisted they need to carry on the momentum against Delhi Daredevils on Tuesday.
Chasing a huge target of 191, Punjab fought their way back after being reduced to 56/3 through Hussey's 65 off 35 balls and a late surge from Gurkeerat Singh.
Punjab all-rounder Azhar Mahmood, the only Pakistani player to feature in IPL 5, said he was happy with his team's performance so far."It has been a good experience so far, the hospitality has been great. I have got a warm welcome wherever I have been. The team is performing well so the feeling is even better," said Azhar.
The former Pakistani cricketer said, it's not about a single player performing but it's the entire team effort which has driven the team forward.
"It is not about an individual performance, it is about the whole team. Everyone has done his bit to make the team win," he said.
