New Delhi, May 18: Royal Challengers Bangalore's Luke Pomersbach was arrested by Delhi police for allegedly molesting a woman during the post match IPL party at ITC Mourya on Thursday night.
It is learnt that the Australian cricketer apart from misbehaving with a US national also beat up her fiance who tried to intervene while he was misbehaving with the woman, during an IPL post match party.
Delhi Police registered a case under sections 354 (outraging modesty of woman), 323 (hurt), 454 (lurking house trespass) and 511 (Punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment) of the Indian Penal Code.
The woman and her fiance lodged a complaint at Chanakyapuri police station. Luke was taken to RML Hospital in Delhi for medical examination.
According to sources, Police have found preliminary evidence of alcohol during the medical examination, while the Delhi police also confirmed that no other player was involved in the brawl.
Reacting to the issue, Rajiv Shukla has denied the existence of an official party and has said it was a private party.
"There was no official party hosted by IPL, and the tournament is not responsible for player's conduct," Shukla said.
Luke Pomersbach was produced in court today, and was granted an interim bail until tomorrow.
Cricket Australia has refused to comment on the issue as spokesperson Peter Young said 'the board will comment after the probe'.
Pomersbach has played for Kings XI Punjab in the previous editions of IPL, while he is a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad in IPL 5.
