Bangalore, May 24: Mumbai Indians skipper Harbhajan Singh admitted that MS Dhoni's quickfire 20-ball 51 took the game away from them as Mumbai fell short by 38 runs to crash out of IPL 5 as Chennai progressed to the Qualifiers after the IPL eliminator at Bangalore on Wednesday.
Harbhajan quite disappointed with the loss credited the win to Dhoni's innings, as he changed the game as
"Obviously, we are disappointed, but cannot change the result, CSK played like champions, Dhoni's innings was the game-changer, took it away from us," Harbhajan said after Mumbai Indians were knocked out of the tournament following a 38-run defeat against Chennai here tonight.
Harbhajan disappointed with the loss, said the team couldn't contain Dhoni as he was on a roll.
"We could not do too much about his innings, we have not achieved as much as we should have. The reason for removing myself from the attack was to get RP Singh a bowl, first ball he bowled, the edge should have gone to hand and missed," he added.
While captain Dhoni lauded the team for putting up a good show against Mumbai Indians after a mediocre performance in the league matches and especially praised Subramaniam Badrinath for his magnificent knock which helped the team post 187/5 in 20 overs after losing two wickets within the first two overs.
Talking about his team's entry to the play-offs, Dhoni said his team just enjoyed watching other games as things went in their favour.
"We were just watching and enjoying the games when we were done with our league stage, all the results went our way.
He further praised Badrinath and Michael Hussey for their effort to help the team post a challenging total.
"A lot of credit to Badri and Hussey. Badri is an unsung hero, he batted very well. Later on me and Bravo could do well with the bat," he said.
