Baramulla, Jun 4: Team India skipper MS Dhoni feels legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar will make contribution as a Rajya Sabha member as well on Sunday, during his visit to Baramulla, 55 kms from Srinagar.
Dhoni's comments came in the wake of Tendulkar's debut in the Upper House of the Parliament.
The master blaster who turned 39 recently was nominated to the Upper House in the month of April and is scheduled to take an oath as a member of Rajya Sabha by Chairman Hamid Ansari on Monday.
Indian skipper has said that Rajya Sabha is the new pitch and master blaster would look forward to perform well here too following his excellence in all forms of the game.
"This (Rajya Sabha) is a new avenue for him and I am sure he will do well and contribute there also," Dhoni, who is here as part of his visit to the forward area of the Line of Control (LoC), told reporters here, 55 kms from Srinagar.
Dhoni who was inducted as an honorary Lt Colonel in the Army last year, visited Baramulla, forward area of the Line of Control (LoC) located 55 kms from Srinagar on Sunday, wished Tendulkar who is scheduled to take oath as a Rajya Sabha member on June 4, 2012.
"I would like to wish him all the very best. He has been contributing in cricket and has done well in every field," Dhoni said.
