Harare, Jun 19: South Africa's Twenty20 captain Hashim Amla is all set to lead the team in the absence of regular skipper AB de Villliers, has expressed confidence in his team, ahead of their tri-series featuring Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, also added that this gives an opportunity to the selectors to pick the T20 squad for the ICC World T20 in September.
Hashim Amla's XI reached Harare on Sunday are scheduled to open their campaign against Bangladesh on Tuesday at the Harare Sports Club.
"Although it is early in the season, teams that bowl well can still perform well and Zimbabwe and Bangladesh are able to do that," Sports24 quoted Amla, as saying.
"We're expecting to perform well, but I think the crux of the tour is to make sure that the selectors and the coach get the understanding of where they want the team to be at the World Cup," he added.
