Bangalore, Jun 27: Indian teams for the Sri Lanka ODI and Twenty20 series will be picked on July 4 in Mumbai, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said on Wednesday.
"The All-India Senior Selection Committee will meet at the Cricket Centre, Mumbai, on Wednesday, 4 July 2012, to pick the Indian teams for the ODI and T20 International series in Sri Lanka in July-August 2012," a BCCI press release said on Wednesday.
It will be interesting to see whether the senior selection committee, under the chairmanship of Kris Srikkanth, considers IPL performances and rewards some young players for the Sri Lanka tour.
India will play five ODIs and one T20 against Sri Lanka. The first ODI match of the series begins in Hambantota on July 21.
The tour has been advance by a day. Earlier, the first match was to be played on July 22. All six matches will be day and night contests.
At the moment, Indian cricketers are enjoying a break after the completion of the Indian Premier League's fifth edition on May 27.
The tour of Sri Lanka marks a busy schedule ahead as they host New Zeland in a Test series in August and will again travel to Sri Lanka for the ICC World Twenty20 2012 starting from September 18.
